Amman, Mar. 24 (Petra) – The Ministry of Agriculture announced it has activated a dedicated hotline to preserve the Kingdom's forests as part of its preparations to address effects of the forthcoming weather system and protect forest-related resources from any negative attacks or practices that may increase during this period.
In a statement issued Tuesday, the ministry said it has launched the number of the Forestry Operations Room (065341116) to receive reports around the clock.
The ministry also urged citizens to cooperate and immediately report any attacks on forest trees or illegal logging practices, given their direct impact on the Kingdom's environment and biodiversity.
The ministry added that it has boosted its worker "readiness" in various agricultural directorates, especially the field forest teams to follow up on and address any observations or reports "immediately," in coordination with the relevant authorities, to protect forests and mitigate potential risks.
Urging farmers to adhere to its issued guidelines, the ministry stressed the importance of concerted efforts between citizens and official entities to preserve forest resources as a national treasure.
